Heimdall is a legendary Defender hero from the Asgard faction in Godforge. Heimdall is aligned with the Strength affinity and loyal to the Order allegiance. In this guide, you’ll find the best Heimdall builds, recommended team synergies, counters to watch out for, and tips to get the most out of this hero in both PvE and PvP.
Allies under any [Buff] have a 30% chance to reflect any [Debuff] received.
Attack 1 enemy (260%DEF+95%ATK) and transfer a random [debuff] from this hero to the target. If any [Burn], [Bleed], or [Acid] debuffs are transferred, activate them after transferring.
Place [Retaliate] and [Intercept] on all allies for 2 turns, then attack all enemies (350%DEF+125%ATK).
Place [DEF Up II] on all allies for 2 turns, and place [Shield] 400%DEF on all allies. Then place [Protect II] on all allies except this hero for 2 turns. These buffs cannot be removed when placed on heroes from Asgard.
Gain 40 Divinity when an ally is attacked by an enemy.
This passive grants allies under any buff a 30% chance to reflect any debuff received. This is extremely potent against teams that rely heavily on control or debuffs, significantly increasing your team’s resistance to crowd control and status effects. Because buffs are so prevalent, this passive is almost always active, especially mid and late battle.
Utilizing DEF for damage, this skill attacks an enemy and transfers a random debuff from Heimdall to the target. If specific debuffs (Burn, Bleed, Acid) are transferred, they activate once transferred, making Heimdall a strong self-cleanser and a threat to debuff-heavy opponents. This promotes a durable, “tank and punish” play style.
Applies Retaliate (counterattack on hit) and Intercept (redirects attacks to Heimdall) on all allies for 2 turns, then deals AoE damage based on DEF and ATK. This move dramatically improves team survivability, creating a strong frontline and frequent opportunity for counterattacks—dangerous for teams relying on multi-hitting or AoE skills.
Places DEF Up II and a huge Shield (scaling with DEF) on all allies, and applies Protect II (damage transfer) on all except Heimdall. On Asgard heroes, these buffs are irremovable. This turn effectively locks down your team’s defenses for 2 turns, allowing you to weather most burst threats and survive high-damage windows.
Heimdall is a premier defender focused on punishing debuffers, enabling reflection of negative effects, and soaking incoming damage through buffs and shields. His toolkit creates “buffer synergy,” enabling teams that keep up buffs and capitalizing on frequent turn cycling and protection. He’s especially oppressive in Asgard-themed teams or any comp featuring a high volume of buffs.
Gear Set: As a Defender, Heimdall should use Plate gear for optimal damage reduction.
Main Stats:
DEF% (Chest, Shoulders, Gauntlets, Legs, Boots): For scaling all of his abilities and shields.
HP%: For greater survivability and shield strength.
RES (Helmet): Increases his resistance to debuffs, synergizing with his passive by making him even harder to control.
SPD (Legs or Boots if going for more turns, but DEF usually best-in-slot)
Substats:
DEF%
HP%
RES (Resistance)
SPD (Speed)
Secondary Priorities: Flat DEF, flat HP, a bit of ACC if you want his debuff transfer to land more reliably.
Another Asgard Defender who brings Radiance and strong self-cleansing, stacking with Heimdall’s damage redirection and shield effects. Together, they can lock down an entire team’s sustain and drastically frustrate debuff/disable-based attackers.
Odin’s Turn Meter steal and Disable spread combine well with Heimdall’s AoE and reflected debuffs, creating a continuous control loop. Odins’s debuff-centric kit gives Heimdall’s reflection passive extra value and increases pressure on enemy supports.
Horus offers shields, disables, and turn meter boost whenever he’s attacked under Taunt. Stacking with Heimdall’s Protect and intercept, your team’s defense becomes even more impenetrable, ideal for compositions built on deterrence and survival.
Reduce Buff Uptime: Use heroes who remove or block buffs, as Heimdall’s reflection passive and defense are buff-dependent.
Ignore Shields & DEF: Heroes or skills that ignore shields and defense (such as shield-breakers or defense-piercing ultimates), or effects that destroy shields (e.g., “Acid” or “Vulnerable”), have higher success.
Debuff Immunity: Rely less on debuffs, as reflected control effects can shut down your own team.
Buff Removal/Steal: Bring heroes who can reliably remove or steal buffs from the enemy, especially mass dispels, to strip protective layers and open Heimdall’s team to direct attacks.
Single-Target Nukers: Focus down Heimdall with high-damage, single-target skills before he can ramp shields and intercept effects. Targeting him directly can bypass his Protect II buffs.
Buff Blockers: Abilities that prevent buffs from being placed can stop his main protection cycle.
