Anubis is a legendary Brawler hero from the Aaru faction in Godforge. Anubis is aligned with the Cunning affinity and loyal to the Chaos allegiance. In this guide, you’ll find the best Anubis builds, recommended team synergies, counters to watch out for, and tips to get the most out of this hero in both PvE and PvP.
When a hero is defeated, Increase this hero’s turn meter by 20%.
Attack 1 enemy (6%MAXHP+60%ATK) 2 times. If the enemy is defeated, has 75% chance to place [Despair] for 1 turn on all enemies.
Attack all enemies (13%MAXHP+85%ATK) with a 75% chance to place [Corrupt] and [INIT Down II] for 2 turns.
Attack all enemies (17%MAXHP+100%ATK). If this hero’s HP is below 50%, heals this hero by 30% of the damage inflicted. If this Hero’s HP is above 50%, place [Barrier] for 30% of the damage inflicted.
Gain 100 Divinity whenever an enemy is defeated. Double this bonus if they were defeated by Soul Guide.
Anubis gains a 20% turn meter boost every time any hero is defeated. This effect ensures excellent tempo control in battles with frequent fatalities, and allows Anubis to chain his abilities for pressure or cleanup. In fast-paced fights or when used with other high-damage or execute heroes, Anubis gains multiple extra turns, making him highly dangerous in the mid to late rounds.
This skill hits an enemy twice, scaling with both Anubis’s max HP and attack (6% MAXHP + 60% ATK per hit). If it defeats an enemy, there’s a 75% chance to apply Despair (a powerful disable that prevents buffs and skips a turn) on all remaining enemies for 1 turn. This makes Anubis a strong executioner and group controller; his basic can potentially disable an entire enemy squad if timed with a finishing blow.
This AOE (area-of-effect) skill strikes all enemies, scaling with both HP and ATK (13% MAXHP + 85% ATK), with a 75% chance to inflict Corrupt and Initiative Down II. Corrupt allows Anubis (or his allies) to “steal” buffs from affected foes, adding utility, while the INIT Down II debuff slows all victims for 2 turns, making it excellent for setting up the team’s offensive window or disrupting speed-reliant teams.
Anubis’s ultimate attacks all enemies, scaling heavily with max HP and attack (17% MAXHP + 100% ATK). If his HP is below 50%, he self-heals for 30% of the damage inflicted; if above 50%, he grants himself a Barrier for 30% of damage done. He also gains 100 Divinity whenever an enemy falls—a reward doubled if they die from his basic attack. This ability makes Anubis resilient, able to finish weakened enemies (triggering more passives) and sustain himself with healing/barrier depending on his health.
Anubis is a hybrid nuker-controller who specializes in disrupting teams that rely on buffs, speed, or fragile comps. His damage is double-scaled and grows stronger as the opponent’s formation crumbles. He applies debilitating disables (Despair, Corrupt, Initiative Down), steals buffs, and sustains himself on kills, making him both an excellent finisher and a threat if left unchecked.
Primary Stats:
Substats
Best Slot Types:
Focusing Chain Mail (Brawler gear set) maximizes Anubis’s all-around stats (HP, ATK, DEF) by up to 3% per slot, but prioritize anything with high rolls of HP%, ATK%, Crit, and Accuracy for both offense and debuff reliability. Speed gear also helps Anubis act ahead of enemies and finish off low-HP targets
Synergizes with Anubis via direct skill interactions—when on the same team, Hound of Duat has a chance to refresh skills and allow both to join attacks. The barrier/healing support from Hound makes Anubis more resilient, while Hound benefits from Anubis’s disables, giving the team massive sustain and utility.
Isis brings mass buffing, shields, and healing—covering Anubis’s defensive weaknesses. She also spreads buffs to all allies, and frequent cleanses keep Anubis fighting through disables or debuffs. The high sustain and utility from Isis complement Anubis’s aggressive yet reactive battle style.
Dracula’s kit applies Bleeds and sustain, and his disables stack with Anubis’s. This combination improves the team’s ability to lock down foes via disables and debuffs, and maximizes punishment of low-HP and crowd-controlled targets. Both scale partially off HP and can cover each other’s kill windows
Prevent Finishes:
Tools that block or mitigate single-target executes—such as Revive-on-Death, Intercept, or strong Shields/Barriers—reduce the chance for Anubis to trigger his self-sustaining chain kills and disables.
High Resistance or Cleanse:
Teams built with high Resistance (or heroes who frequently cleanse/allies) can avoid or quickly remove Despair and Corrupt, neutralizing his main skill impact.
Outspeed and Disable:
Fast disruptors who can disable Anubis before he acts (such as stuns, sleep, or silence) will prevent him from chaining his turn-meter boosts and disables. Initiative Down and SPD Down debuffs on Anubis greatly limit his threat window.
Nullify Scaling:
Effects that reduce Max HP or block healing/barriers (such as anti-heal, HP burn, or skills that prevent shield application) reduce Anubis’s survivability from his ultimate. Damage mitigation or priority removal of him while he is above 50% HP is key.
Burst Damage:
Anubis is powerful on sustained fights and can bounce back with every kill. High burst damage comps that single him out before the enemy team falls can take advantage of his relatively lower base bulk as a brawler
