Hero Types in Godforge – Full Breakdown of Archetypes and Roles

Hero Type or in some RPG we call it as Hero Classes, here in Godforge they called it as Archetypes. there are total 5 Archetypes in the games. In this article we will discuss each and see how we can make a strong team combination using them.

Hero Archetypes In Godforge

Defender

Defender are like a tank for you team they will soak most the damage for your team. They got high base stat defence and resistance by default.

  • Primary Stats: High defense, HP, resistance
  • Playstyle: Protect and mitigate damage for the team
  • Gear Type: Plate
  • Attunement Bonus: -1% incoming damage per gear piece

Original Description:
“When all hope is lost, Defenders stand resolute in defense of your team. Capable of taking the mightiest of blows, Defenders’ primary goal is to protect their allies with abilities focused around shield and damage mitigation. First into the breach and last to fall, Defenders form the base of any team’s defenses.”

Invoker

Invokers are your key support units. They provide healing, buffs, and manipulate turn order to keep your squad moving faster and hitting harder.

  • Primary Stats: Speed, initiative, resistance
  • Playstyle: Healing, boosting, turn meter control
  • Gear Type: Cloth
  • Attunement Bonus: +1% outgoing healing & turn meter boosts per piece.

“Invokers restore strength to your team and focus exclusively on empowering your allies in battle. While Defenders reduce incoming damage, Invokers focus on healing and enabling your team to increase their potency and power, critical in any assault.”

Brawler

Brawler is similar to a fighter class hero , they are self sustain units. Brawlers blend durability with damage. Though not true tanks, they survive through high HP and deal strong, often self-scaling damage.

  • Primary Stats: HP/ATK based damage scaling
  • Playstyle: Durable, self-sustaining melee DPS
  • Gear Type: Chain Mail
  • Attunement Bonus: +0.5% to all stats per piece

“In the heat of battle, wounds are merely minor annoyances to Brawler heroes, whose bloodlust and battle frenzy fuel their strength and resilience. They lack the raw damage output of Slayers and care little for team survival, but their resilience allows them to fight longer, often trading health for power.”

Disruptor

Disruptors are your battlefield tacticians/Debuffer. They weaken enemies, control initiative, and create openings for your other units to strike hard.

  • Primary Stats: Speed, initiative
  • Playstyle: Debuffing, controlling enemy flow
  • Gear Type: Nightweave
  • Attunement Bonus: Ignore +1% enemy resistance per piece.

“Manipulation of the balance of power in battle is the principal role of Disruptors. They focus on applying powerful disables and debuffs on foes while manipulating turn order and divinity powers. When pure power fails, the Disruptor lurks in the shadows to control the battle.”

Slayer

Slayers are high-risk, high-reward DPS units. While they lack defense, their offensive power is unmatched—perfect for boss kills and burst damage. Protect this unit using you defender, invoker, and disrupter.

  • Primary Stats: Attack
  • Playstyle: Maximum damage output (single-target or AOE)
  • Gear Type: Leather
  • Attunement Bonus: +1% outgoing damage per piece.

“Slayer heroes are specialized combatants designed to annihilate enemies swiftly and effectively. Possessing less defensive capability than other archetypes, Slayers trade resilience for unmatched offensive prowess, enabling them to consistently output and sustain high damage.”
